A new production which supports the Key Stage 1 and 2 RE Curriculum and teaching of Christianity in primary schools. It is also ideal as an all-age/family event.
Join Saltmine Theatre Company in One Hope, as they embark on a mission, a secret mission from … Well, that’s classified. Jordan is 11. She’s had a bad day, she keeps getting things wrong and she feels a bit invisible. Her H.O.P.E. levels are seriously low. But this is before Micky and Gabby come crashing into her room on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. These secret agents with a twist think they know the solution, and burst into action, introducing Jordan to the Book of Hope. Jordan’s room comes alive with planets and stars, shepherds and kings, and a bewildered innkeeper who just can’t sleep. But what difference can a story make? Will Micky and Gabby complete their mission? And will they manage to give Jordan a little bit of hope?
One Hope is an innovative and interactive sweep of the great big story of God and us. Using music, poetry and creative storytelling, this vibrant production explores the Christian vision of self-identity and enlivens some familiar stories from our very own Book of Hope, the Bible.
The performance lasts about 45 minutes and is suitable for all ages of primary school. Within one day, the play can be performed twice (either in two neighbouring schools or in a school and in a church early evening for families).
Available in July for schools and all-age outreach events.
Cost per day: £600 + travel costs + VAT
