Simon had his first acting job with Saltmine over a decade ago. Since then he has completed a Masters in Acting at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and acted and directed around the world.

Studying English and Drama at Royal Holloway College, Joanna is one of our longest serving staff members and works to get us and you to the right place at the right time.
CEO
Rachael served for 12 years on the Spring Harvest leadership team. She then moved on to get her MA in Applied Theology and Leadership at Moorlands Bible College before joining us in 2010.
Facilities Support Contractor
Gideon has been in the construction industry for over 30 years. In 2016 he graduated with a BSC Honours in Construction Management. He also enjoys music and leading worship.
Photographer
Chez has been a photographer for over 10 years and has worked with clients such as The Guardian, Ella’s Kitchen and The British Council. He studied Photography at Falmouth University and has been with us since 2015.
Actor
Rowmell first worked with us in The Birmingham Passion Play 2019. After acting for 8 years, he describes Saltmine as the place where his faith and passion meet in one place.
Design Lead
After studying fashion in Amsterdam, Bethany went on to do a degree in Fashion Design at Falmouth University. She is now the brains behind the beauty of our costumes and set.
Co-Artistic Director
Ben completed a Foundation Degree in Community Evangelism in 2010 and went on to join us in 2011. He is now our longest serving actor and with thousands of performances under his belt he started directing for us in 2018.

Theo was born in Birmingham and studied Theatre and Professional Practice at Coventry University. He has worked with Saltmine since 2016 performing in many of our Theatre in Education shows.

Anisha trained at Bath Spa and went on to work as a freelance actor. She joined us in 2021 after acting in The Birmingham Passion Play 2019 community cast.
Freelance Writer, Actor and Director
After completing a degree in Ancient History at the University of Reading, Freddy joined us in 2012. He has toured thousands of miles with us in thousands of performances.

Sara graduated with a first-class honors degree in Business Management and Psychology and has been providing support to organisations, communities and individuals ever since.

Content Creator
Pete is a multi-disciplined Creative Comms Specialist who struggles to pick a lane. He has served Christian organisations since 2018 after nearly 12 years with ad agencies. He also runs a clothing brand, makes odd clay sculptures and can print just about anything onto a mug. Once upon a time, Pete was in a Saltmine Band called Exalt.
Acting Intern
Rhianna graduated with a BA (Hons) in Acting from Bath Spa, producing and acting in her self-written short film 'Wickham and I'. She is excited to tour our Theatre in Education productions and workshops.
Finance Administrator
Diane graduated from Surrey University with a BA Hons Degree in Business Studies and Religious Studies. Since graduation she has taken on several roles in the finance industry and joined us in 2021.
Marketing &
Brand Manager
Lydia worked in Australia as a full-time volunteer mentoring young people from 2013-2020. Since then, she has studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and joined us in 2021.
Freelance Sound Engineer, Technician and Composer
After finishing a Diploma in Popular Music and Worship (Live Sound), Jacob became a freelance technician. He joined us in 2016 and now composes original music for us.
Freelance Actor/Musician
Daniel studied Applied Theology and Performing Arts at Regents Theological College and went on to work as a freelance actor. He started working with Saltmine in 2019.
Graphic Designer & Website Maintenance
Starting off with a degree in Fine Art and Design, Franco went on to become a freelance graphic designer. He joined us in 2012 and he is behind our website and artwork.

Emily has a BA Hons English Literature and Language from Oxford University. She has worked with Riding Lights and Little Blue Monster and joined us in 2017.
Fundraising and Bid Officer
Francesca is a graduate of Applied Performance (Community and Education) from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She began her journey with Saltmine in 2024 as a Freelance Actor and joined the team as our Fundraising and Bid Officer in early 2025.
Acting Intern
Esther graduated from Falmouth University with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Since then, she has been working as an actor, theatre and singing teacher, and volunteering in her local church. Having grown up locally, she is excited to join Saltmine who first inspired her to combine her passions for performing arts and faith.

Freelance Director
Caroline has been a theatre maker and director for the past 20 years, recently working with the RSC, Birmingham Rep and Women & Theatre. She has been working with us since 2014.
Freelance Musical Director
Carl has been a professional musician for over forty years. He has worked with a wide variety of artists from Graham Kendrick to British soul Queen Beverly Knight, Gospel legend Andrae Crouch to Disco diva Gloria Gaynor. Carl has worked with Salmine since 1986, most recently as a vocal coach and arranger for the team
Trustee
Judy joined the Board in 2017. She is a speaker, writer and performer who is part of the leadership team of Riverside Church in Birmingham.

Adrian is a retired solicitor having practised for 45 years in Birmingham city centre. He specialised in commercial property development and investment. He has been married to Jo for 48 years, and in his spare time loves to play golf and the piano.

Lesley is the UK director of Agapé and has been a part of our board since 2014. She is now our current Vice Chair.
Chair of Board
Alongside being the current Chair of Saltmine's board, Dan is the CEO of The Mercian Trust, a multi academy trust of schools serving communities in Walsall and surrounding areas. He joined us in 2017.
Trustee
Iain joined the Board in March 2019. Professionally, he helps people move into self-employment and is involved with several Christian initiatives focussed on community transformation.
