Drama Workshops

As the UK navigates through a second national lockdown, Saltmine are continuing to provide these resources for FREE during this period to inspire, encourage and educate. Due to the current impact of the pandemic we are unable to tour again until the national lockdown and restrictions are lifted.

However, we are still keen to do what we can digitally through our lockdown resources. We are using the Government’s part-time furlough scheme with nearly all staff whilst still working within our means to bring faith motivated arts into homes as teachers and families navigate virtual learning and home-schooling.

Please keep up with us on social media @saltminetrust as we re-share these resources with you over this lockdown period through YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

We are creating all of this content free of charge but would appreciate any donations towards our work at this time.

A modern retelling of the parable of the prodigal son

The Prodigal Monologue
Written by Richard Hasnip,
performed by Ben Kessell for Saltmine Trust

Isabella Lilias Trotter (14 July 1853 – 27 August 1928) was an artist and a missionary to Algeria.

The famous painter John Ruskin said that if she would devote herself to her art "she would be the greatest living painter and do things that would be Immortal".

Isabella Lilias Trotter Monologue
Written by Anna Turner, performed by Katie Coen for Saltmine Trust

"We are told that in these uncertain times we are making history."

But making history isn't easy. How do we tread in the tension, embrace the unknown, wrestle for positive change?

We trust in the stability of belonging to another, everlasting kingdom - and we set ourselves to making that kingdom a reality for everybody.

Another Kingdom
Written by Anna Turner for
Saltmine Trust

"The uncertainty of this 'unprecedented' season has bred a lot of fear. We feel as if we are navigating ourselves blindly through the unknown.

But we are not the first. The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us that it is just that - a season. And whatever this season holds, it isn't forever, and we are not alone. We live in a chaotic world. But nothing is unprecedented to God."

There is a Time
Written by Emily Feltham for Saltmine Trust
