"The usual high standard with a Christian message - brilliant and easily accessible to everyone.”
– Booker 2022, Chawn Hill Church

For 2022, we decided to reignite the classic story of  A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser, is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley, followed by three spirits of Christmas: Past, Present and Yet to Come. Challenging him with the reality of his own life, the spirits present Scrooge with the opportunity to change.

Under the veil of our country’s cost of living crisis, the story of Scrooge’s greed and the Cratchits’ hardship felt evermore poignant. This year our message landed on the question “What can I give?”. A reminder that “It’s more blessed to give than receive.” (Acts 20:35)

Generosity can be shown in many forms, not just financially but by being generous with our time, generous with our words and generous with our encouragement.

“What can I give him, poor as I am? … I would give my heart.” – In the Bleak Midwinter sung by Tiny Tim
